GA corrections department uses DocuPact

The Georgia Department of Corrections' records management system incorporates InterTech Information Management's (Atlanta, www.intertech.com) DocuPact. Integrated with Microsoft's BackOffice and running on a Windows NT server, DocuPact manages 38,000 inmate folders, each containing 100 to 150 pages. Inmate documents are captured as electronic images and integrated with decision support records held on a Unisys database.




HP chooses Feith

Hewlett-Packard (Palo Alto, CA, http://www.hp.com[LiveLink]) has selected a database from Feith Systems and Software (Fort Washington, PA, http://www.feith.com[LiveLink]) for the conversion of 7.5 million personnel employee records at its corporate headquarters. The Feith Document Database (FDD) integrates COLD, document management, fax and workflow, supports an Oracle database and runs on an HP 9000 server. WebFDD will provide Web-enabled records' access.




Wang to assist MA Commonwealth

The multi-vendor service unit of Wang (Billerica, MA, http://www.wang.com[LiveLink]) received a $450,000 contract from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for the integration of seven E-mail systems within the state government. Under the terms of the agreement, 40,000 state government employees will be given access to a central directory and E-mail capabilities. Acting as the prime contractor and providing project management and integration services, Wang teams with subcontractor Control Data Systems (Arden Hills, MN), offering its messaging technology and consulting services.




CACI a Keyfile reseller

Per a reseller agreement, CACI International (Arlington, VA, http://www.quickbid.com[LiveLink]) becomes a VAR and systems integrator for Keyfile (Nashua, NH, http://www.keyfile.com[LiveLink]). Keyfile's document management and workflow software products will be incorporated into CACI's expanding intelligent document management (IDM) solutions' business in the federal government marketplace.




Imation and TeraStor develop new storage

Imation (Oakdale, MN, http://www.imation.com) has signed an agreement with TeraStor (San Jose, http://www.terastor.com[LiveLink]) for the development of media for a new class of rewritable mass storage. Products will be based on TeraStor's Near Field recording technology that creates a new category of multipurpose mass storage technology with hard disk and optical technologies. With user capacities of 20 GB, the products promise to offer a 10-fold capacity advantage and lower cost-per-gigabyte than current storage options. Introduction is scheduled for the first half of 1998.




Myriad enhances DOCS Open

Features include: browsing capabilities from within Myriad or DOCS open; faster viewing; redline and markup file management; check-in, check-out and revision management of markups; display of markup comments by the author; and the printing of definable document attributes within margins on hard copy as part of the ISO 9000 bannering technology.




Insci signs with Unisys

A Unisys (Blue Bell, PA, http://www.unisys.com[LiveLink]) sales program focusing on integrated document management solutions includes an agreement with Insci (Westborough, MA, http://www.insci.com[LiveLink]). NT and Unix-based COLD, imaging, automated CD distribution and Internet access products will be sold on Unisys Aquanta and ClearPath families of departmental and enterprise servers. The agreement expands the previously established relationship between the companies with the addition of new Insci application products and Unisys hardware platforms.




Mitek and Black Ice sign agreement

Mitek Systems (San Diego, http://www.mitek.com[LiveLink]) and Black Ice Software (Amherst, NH) have signed an agreement for the worldwide sale and distribution of Intrafax. The intranet fax solution for wide area networks (WANs) and multiple office environments is also suitable for Internet use. The companies will continue to collaborate on the development of new fax, voice and E-mail products.




Workplace Systems introduces Active Asset

The Bentley (Exton, PA, http://www.bentley.com[LiveLink]) and Primavera (Bala Cynwyd, PA, http://www.primavera.com[LiveLink]) companies have formed WorkPlace Systems and introduced Active Asset, a system that addresses facility asset and information management using Internet and intranet capabilities to combine financial, engineering and asset information. The solution offers facility life cycle asset management for building and remodeling as well as asset documentation.




CMstat announces an alliance

CMstat (San Diego, http://www.cmstat.com[LiveLink]) announced an alliance to supply its configuration management technology through Metaphase products. CMstat is making the move toward supplying the configuration management technology piece to a number of vendors. If that goes as well as CMstat hopes and some industry insiders suggest it could, the system could be to PDM what Dolby is to stereo.
